Larry Neel grew up on a cotton farm near Lovington, New Mexico where he developed his love for the natural world working outdoors and taking long walks on the farm with his dogs. He came to Nevada to pursue his master's degree in wildlife biology at the University of Nevada, Reno in 1977 and has worked for Nevada Department of Wildlife since 1982. Most of the images on this webpage were shot with a Nikon D60 DSLR with 18-55, 55-200, and 70-300 Nikkor zoom lenses, but Larry has recently upgraded to a Nikon D7000 and a Sigma 150-500 zoom for wildlife.

Larry and his wife Martha live in Fallon, Nevada. Larry has sold photographs to Audubon Magazine and has exhibited fine art prints in the Lahontan Valley Fine Art Invitational, Shooting The West, and Reno's Midtown Art Walk events. He sells prints and framed prints and will shoot weddings and portraits for hire.
