Carson Lake April 2011
Persistent late storm systems have filled the wetlands with water and migration is in full swing while avocets and stilts wasted no time getting down to the business of nesting. White-faced Ibis began stomping platforms in the Big Water Unit last Saturday April 23, and a few pairs of Western and Clark's Grebes are patrolling the margin canal. Getting decent weather and photo-friendly light has been a challenge until today, when it was sunny and clear, but a rare northeast breeze kept it a little chilly most of the day.
